Give Me a Hand this Metal is Kinda Heavy

I added yet another manga to the list today, does that make me crazy or just bored? I hope the latter. Anyways check out Yakitate! Japan in the feed bar. It's about a boy seeking to create a bread unique to Japan seeing as how there is already French bread, English bread and German bread. I thoroughly enjoyed watching the anime and just discovered the manga. It's quite funny and also pretty informative about food. Being a food lover lets me enjoy this manga twice as much.

Haven't Really gotten around to Civ 4's expansions yet, but I think I'll get to it tomorrow. I've decided to start with warlords because I just want to crush people.

I'm very into Moi Dix Mois lately. There music is just my style. It sounds very european, they usually have instrumental tracks, it's pretty awesome metal, there's bit of techno thrown in and last but not least it's a japanese band. What more could I ask for in a band? Besides GWAR playing a concert in my back yard not much.

Seeing as how I'm on the topic of music I might as well divulge my favorite genre: Metal. Of course Rock (along with most of it's sub genres) and Goth tally a close second. But I hate Christian rock, soft rock and country rock. Firstly I'm not a christian and I don't appreciate them pushing their beliefs in one of my favorite genres. Secondly soft rock is pussy music that's why it's called soft, also isn't the term soft rock an oxymoron? As for country rock, it just disagrees with my ears. Now if you truly appreciate rock and/or metal music you should go out and find a copy of Metal: A Head banger's Journey (buy it here). It is an excellent documentary tracing the roots of metal through blues, rock, classical and the like. I guarantee that it will be an enlightening experience.

My Kongregate Plug

Sorry about the lack of a post yesterday I was just so wiped out. But anyways, it's Friday! you know what that means? Manga! Yes-sir-ee manga out the wazoo including new Bleach, Naruto and Zombie Loan manga. Just click the links to the right. Also following new manga today Vampire Juuji Kai and The World God Only Knows I suggest you check it out.

I've been playing a lot of Civilization 4 lately, and I tthink I should start on one of the expansion packs, but which? I guess I should try warlords first. Although I kind of want to run through more regular Civ 4 senarios first.

New badges on Kongregate today. Fragger gets 3 badges and a Kongai card challenge. None of them are really hard to get, just time consuming. To play Fragger go here and to join Kongregate and give me a hand go here. If you don't know what Kongregate is, it's a flash gaming site that awards points and badges for completing certain tasks (aka achievements) in a flash game. After a certain amount of points you can level up giving more incentive to play the game. Kongregate also rewards developers, games submitted have a chance to win the weekly and monthly contests if they are rated high enough. The weekly contest awards $250 to the winner and $150 to the runners up. The monthly contest awards $1500 to first, $1000 for second, $700 for third, $500 for fourth and $250 for fifth through ninth. It's definitely worth joining this site if you are a developer in desperate need of funding. It's also worth it if you love all sorts of flash games compiled from many sites such as Armorgames.

Until tomorrow this is Pyrexis signing off.

Bleach Update, Slayers and FMP!

New episode of Bleach today and as I suspected it's a filler episode. It's unsurprising since the anime was catching up to the manga. Anyways you can watch the latest episode here. At least the manga will update on Friday. I hope to see Kensei and Hisagi fight together as well as other reunions.

I've also been watching Slayers recently. It is an older anime that I quite enjoy. Check it out here. There are also more recent continuations here and here. You'll have to search for Slayers Try somewhere else.

Another anime I've been watching is Full Metal Panic! I've almost finished the first series and I'll soon move on to TSR and Fumoffu. Until tomorrow see you later!

Shoujo Interest

So I've been into a few shoujo manga lately. I don't know why it is that I'm so interested in them. I just enjoy reading that kind of stuff. Don't get me wrong I still read plenty of shonen, I just wonder why the other type appeals to me.
The manga in question are Kaichou wa Maid-sama and Shugo Chara! There was also the anime Nana, which I'm also watching the live action version of. Nana was a fantastic anime that made me cry. So I have feelings, that doesn't make me a homosexual (not that there's anything wrong with that). And now *drum roll* the copy-pasted summarys of Shugo Chara!
Amu Hinamori has two personalities: the one she shows on the outside that causes the other students at her new school to dub her "cool and spicy", and her true inner character, a shy and nervous personality that no one, even her parents, knows about.
One night, Amu wishes that she could be who she wants to, instead of pretending to be the "cool and spicy" girl that everyone else knows. When she wakes up the next morning, Amu discovers what could be the key to fulfilling her wish: three brightly-colored eggs (red, blue and green) that each hatch into a Guardian Character, a little angel-like being born of Amu's desire to change. The three Shugo Chara – Ran, Miki, and Su – are each manifestations of Amu's "would-be self", the person Amu wants to become, and can use their powers to change Amu's personality as the situation requires, even enhancing certain abilities like sports and cooking – unfortunately, Amu has no way of stopping them.
Amu isn't the only one with a Shugo Chara, however – when Amu's crush Tadase finds out about Ran, Miki, and Su, he has her join the Guardians, Seiyo Elementary's student council, who Amu finds out is completely made up of kids who have Guardian Characters. And they have other, bigger responsibilities than just signing paperwork: their real job is finding and purifying X-Eggs, the Guardian Eggs born of troubled hearts, as well as searching for the Embryo, a special Guardian Egg said to grant wishes.
Also searching for the Embryo, however, is the Easter company, and they will stop at nothing to find it, no matter how many X-Eggs are created in the process.

And Kaichou wa Maid-sama:
Once an all boys school, Seika High, a renowned school full of reckless and filthy students, has recently become a co-ed school. However, with the female population still remaining a minority even after the change over the recent years, Misaki Ayuzawa takes it into her own hands to reform the school and allow a chance for the girls to feel safer in the rough environment.

Training, studying and even becoming the first female student council president of the school, Misaki has gained a reputation among the male students body as an uptight boy-hating dictator and as a shining hope for the teachers and fellow female students. However, despite her tough-as-nails appearance, she secretly works part-time at a maid cafe in order to support her family. Unfortunately, her secret is soon revealed when the somewhat impassive Usui Takumi, a popular boy at school, nonchalantly discovers her in a maid uniform after school.
Of course the other manga on my list may be considered popular but I very much enjoy them. I'll post a summary and a discussion about Bleach later today or perhaps tomorrow.
